What's the Difference
Quality Programs From Week to Week
There are quite a few different options when it comes to choosing which Impact 2818 Outdoor Ministries camp you want to go to. As a collective ministry, we try to design camps to be as similar as possible. We want you to know that if you go to a Camp Lakewood Elementary Camp, it's going to be just as good as a Camp Indi-Co-So Elementary Camp later that summer.
That said, you should also know that each camp does have a unique flavor that is brought by volunteer directors, counselors, and churches who partner with us in making each different week of camp happen.
Age Specific Programming
Our programs are designed and geared for the student's unique abilities appropriate to their grade. We have features and elements that are modified to both encourage and challenge campers; this helps create opportunities for growth.
Students should register for camps based upon the grade they are going into for the coming fall school year.
Unique Program Types
Each program is unique and we could fill pages about each type. These are the biggest differences between each program type.
Impact and Cabin Camps - This Classic Camp is a tried and true method of camping that we have been steadily improving over the last 80 years of ministry. It's a full week overnight camp.
Express Camp - This is a slightly shorter version (4 days, 3 nights) of the Impact camp. It crams in all of the great features you'd expect from a full week event. Express camps are perfect starter camps for elementary campers making that first camp experience.
Mini Camp - Mini Camps are highlight versions of camp. It's a great first time opportunity for young campers or families with busy schedules. This is a 3 day, 2 night camp.
That Thing – That Thing is very different from all of the other camps at Impact 2818. That Thing is an event that in many ways resembles a summer camp, but it's so much more. It’s a five day experience packed full of hundreds of high school students, lots of activities for groups to enjoy, and an amazing journey through worship that really puts your hands onto faith.
Outdoor Adventures - Every event is an outdoor adventure at Impact 2818 Outdoor Ministries, but this is a group of events that are adventure trips. They don't occur at one particular location as some go to locations such as Boundary Waters Canoeing, spelunking in caves, backpacking in mountainous areas, etc.
Outpost Camp - The outpost experience is a true wilderness event. Cooking meals over fires, team building competitions, adventure elements and so much more. It's kind of like survivor but you won't have to worry about getting voted off of anything here.
Specialty Camps - These are special events with a niche focus providing a tailored experience perfect to your camper. You'll still get to experience all of the great camp moments like worship, swimming, the outdoors and more, but you'll also get that extra time prepping for the drama, exploring computers or playing chess.
Parent Child and Family Camps - Family camps and parent child camps are a great opprotunity for young campers to experience camp for the first time. Go with mom or dad and build some fantastic memories. it's a great bonding experience for the family. Grandparents are also welcome to bring grandchildren along.
Special Needs Camps - These amazing programs, Camp REYOAD (ages 18 and older) and Special Skills Camps (ages 12-18) are designed for special needs campers. The amazing staff help provide the necessary attention needed while helping to provide an amazing camp experience. Our central belief lies in this, John 10:10b where Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." Great Fun, Great Friends, Great Life!
Royal Family Kid’s Camp - Royal Family is a national organization we partner with that makes camping experiences possible for abused & neglected children ages 6 to 12. For more information, please visit www.rfkc.org.
