Climb For Kids
51 students will now be attending camp this summer because of YOU!
Thank you to the more than 120 donors who supported Mike’s efforts to get kids to camp this summer. Because of you, 13 students will attend camp through The Hope Project ($420 full scholarship) and 38 students will attend camp through the Impact 2818 Scholarship Fund ($138.60 partial scholarship). Thank you for giving each of these students a life-changing experience through Christ at camp this summer!
Through his 19,340 foot climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mike Marker of Indianapolis, IN seeks to raise $19,340 to send 100 kids to camp with Impact 2818 this summer! Learn more about what drives his passion and how you can support him:
As a kid growing up in Ft. Wayne, I attended summer camp at Epworth Forest in North Webster, Ind. During those weeklong adventures, I built great friendships, I grew in my faith and I had a ton of fun. I thank God for those experiences and I’ve decided to show my gratitude by sending other kids to camp through an initiative called Impact 2818.
If you agree that every kid should have the opportunity to go to summer camp, please join me in our “Climb for Kids” Campaign. The summit on Mt. Kilimanjaro is 19,340 feet and our lofty goal is to raise $19,340 by February 16, 2013. If we make it, we’ll send 100 kids to camp through full and partial scholarships this summer. And that would be awesome!
If you have any questions, please call me at 317-902-2958 or email me at michael.marker@sbcglobal.net and I’d be happy to tell you more about the campaign and the climb. Thank you for your time and for your generous support. It means a lot to me and it means the world to the kids you’ll be helping.
Peace,
Mike Marker

The Impact of Your Gift
Impact 2818 is a camping ministry of the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church and it serves over 3,000 students in grades K-12 each summer. The organization operates seven camp sites throughout the state and offers two scholarship programs to help get kids to camp regardless of financial status.
The Hope Project partners with community organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Indiana to offer full scholarships ($420) to children of Marion County that need us most; This includes students from single parent homes, growing up in poverty, and having a parent in jail. In 2012, over 50 students were sent to camp through this initiative. Many of these children have never been to camp before and would not be able to attend without full assistance.
Impact 2818 Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to families based on proven financial need, generally awarding 33 percent assistance ($138.60) to help towards the cost of camp. Over 540 students were able to attend camp in 2012 through this program.
